Clinical Analysis of 8 Cases on Double Primary Malignancy Associated with Hematopoietic Malignancy

Abstract
|
|
|
During the 20 years from 1971 to 1990, 1994 new primary cancers were registered at
the Presbyterian Medical Center. Among them 116 cases had multiple primary malignant
neoplasm and 8 cases were with hematopoietic malignancy associated with double
primary malignant neoplasms proved .by surgery or tissue biopsy. We analyses these 8
cases as below ;
1) The incidence of hematopoietic malignancy associated with double primary malignancy
is 0.041% .
2) Male . female ratio was 1 : 1
3) The incidence of hematopoietic malignancy associated with double primary malignancy
increased annually.
4) ABO group incidence was B group(5 cases), 4 group(2 cases), AB group(1 case) and
0 group was absent.
5) The ratio between synchronous and metachronous was 1 : 7
The time interval between first and second malignancy was 4.4 years in metachronous
cases. All of 7 metachronous cases were treated with radiation, or chemotherapy, or
combined therapy,
6)Family history of all cases was not significant.
